1980s Scooters

Mopeds and scooters are so great because they only cost $7 to fill up, go for 100+ miles, and can travel 35-40mph.  A 49cc scooters, the most popular size, run anywhere from $2,000-2,500.  Used models and vintage styles go for even cheaper.

In the 1950s, scooters were a simple mode of transport.  These vehicles  and virtually disappeared in the 70s and 80s, according to a Yamaha Motor Europe scooter product planner on www.yamaha-motor.hu.  It wasn't until the early 90s that automatic transmissions helped repopularize them.  The designs got much more stylish as well, which helped boost demand.

As gas prices have risen in recent years, plenty of people realized that they didn't need to be driving the SUVs and trucks that they had.  Many decided to trade in their car for a better gas mileage vehicle after getting tired of paying $500 per month on as to drive to work.
